La Mauritius Marathi Mandali Federation célèbre cette année ses 60 ans d'existence. La Fédération regroupait au départ 2 associations. Aujourd’hui, elle en compte 52 associations toutes oeuvrant pour la promotion de la culture marathie. Le programme culturel prevu pour l’occasion etait axé sur l’arrivée des marathis à Maurice.
