À l’occasion de la fête nationale, plusieurs personnalités ont reçu une distinction honorifique remise par l’État. Trois personnes ont reçu le GCSK, Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean, parmi la Vice Premier ministre, Fazila Daureeawoo, et Raj Makoond, le CEO du Business Mauritius. 6 personnalités ont été décorées GOSK, Grand Officer of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean, notamment le commissaire électoral.
